Missing Missouri Girl Found Alive

July 7, 2010

A 4-year old girl who was abducted from her Louisiana, Missouri front yard on Monday night was found alive at a car wash 80 miles from her home late Tuesday, approximately 24 hours after her disappearance.

Alisa Maier and her 5-year old brother were playing in their front yard when a four-door vehicle pulled up and an unknown male, possibly white in his late teens or early twenties, ordered the child into the car and drove off.  Alisa’s mother reportedly attempted pursuit of the kidnapper in her vehicle.

At about 10:15 p.m. CST Tuesday, witnesses at a Fenton, Missouri car wash reported seeing a black or brown sedan with an extremely loud muffler nearby, and shortly thereafter they saw the child walking in the area.  The authorities were called, and the girl was identified as Alisa Maier.  The child, who appeared tired, was taken to a hospital and was eventually reunited with her family.

Police have questioned known sex offenders in the area, but have yet to locate the suspect in this case.
