On August 3, 2009, Jim Fitzpatrick of WJBC AM 1230 interviewed Matt Berman, CEO/Founder of InstantAmber. WJBC, based in Illinois, won the 2009 Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Radio Excellence. WJBC focuses on topics that relate to its community.
Jim Fitzpatrick understood the value of InstantAmber and knew his listeners would want to know about it. During the interview, Mr. Fitzpatrick asked Mr. Berman questions about the basics of InstantAmber. Mr. Berman explained that InstantAmber ensures that parents have the best possible tool in a missing child emergency. He also described his personal missing child experience. While on vacation, Berman's youngest child went missing. He did ultimately find his daughter but thought to himself, What would I have done if I hadn't found her? After research, he realized that the information that the police need for the NCIC report is very comprehensive and that it can take hours to complete. This epiphany was the reason for founding InstantAmber.
