Find Missing Children

September 8, 2008

It's a terrible thing for a child to go missing, but it happens everyday and chances are you know someone who has had a loved one disappear.  Although we hope things like this never happen to us, it is important to prepare yourself with the knowledge and tools that can help you find a child, possibly save a life.

Here a few tips to help you find missing children:

  • If a child goes missing first check everywhere that the child could hide including cars, closets, and appliances. Many children don't know that you think they are missing and to them it is a hide-and-seek game.
  • Ask all your neighbors, and their friends parents if your child ventured out on his own. Remember to check your own car to see if your child is inside.
  • Contact your local police and have all your child's important information immediately available, this is where child safety services like Instant Amber help.
  • Call 1-800-THE-LOST to get your child listed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

Following this short plan is the best plan of action to recover a missing child.
