InstantAmber was proud to attend the 2009 Youth Expo in Costa Mesa, CA on April 18-19. InstantAmber attended the event with a non-profit partner, KinderVision, which is the nation's oldest and largest child safety education program.
The Youth Expo is an annual educational fair focusing on the accomplishments of Orange County youth. The three-day event featured thousands of school projects and welcomed thousands of schoolchildren and their families for fun and engaging contests, entertainment, food and education. The vendors’ focus was to educate California’s youth through various activities and promotions.
InstantAmber and KinderVision engaged and educated attendees through child safety quizzes (the complete versions of “The Greatest Save” Safety Quizzes are located on KinderVision’s website) and child safety videos that featured children’s interviews at the conclusion of the DVD. Families watch the video in order to see their children highlighted at the end, ensuring that we educate children and parents on the dangers of child predators. There were three safety messages featured on the DVDs: one featured Major League Baseball players stating safety tips and the other two had general safety tips, which were available in both English and Spanish.
The Orange County Police Department and departmental Explorers were also in the InstantAmber/KinderVision booth to answer questions about safety in California and represent the strong ties between InstantAmber/KinderVision and law enforcement. Jon Larson, Orange County Deputy Sheriff, and Matt Berman, Founder of InstantAmber, are pictured below.
