Why do I need InstantAmber?

The U.S. Department of Justice places a child's chances of being abducted at 1 in 42 (children 19 and under). Parents must stay on the cutting edge of technology in case the unthinkable happens. Experts agree that the first 2 hours following a child abduction are the most crucial to the successful recovery of the child, and in particular the first 20 minutes. Data shows that it can take hours for a parent to assemble and then deliver the information and photos which are vital to law enforcement's efforts to recover a missing child. InstantAmber makes this information available to law enforcement within seconds.

Children go missing for a variety of reasons:  they get lost, they run away, they get separated from their parents and, unfortunately, are abducted.  InstantAmber is the solution for all of these reasons!

Easy to use, completely secure, with nothing to carry and accessible from anywhere…InstantAmber makes every second count!

What information will my personal InstantAmber vault contain?

Your InstantAmber vault allows you to enter all necessary and vital data required by law enforcement agencies to act immediately in the event of a missing child, including descriptive information, photos, emergency medical facts and emergency contacts.

Is my information safe on InstantAmber?

Yes! All information that we send over the internet is highly data-encrypted for your privacy. Your InstantAmber vault is password protected and independently monitored for security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by the world's leading internet security provider, McAfee.

How do I upload a photo?

If you have not already done so, save a photo on your computer's desktop or in an existing folder on your hard drive. When you come to the Images section of your child's profile, click the browse button and a directory of your hard drive will appear; select the desired photo from your desktop or from the designated folder in which it is saved. Once you have highlighted the photo, choose open and then click the upload button.

How long will this take?

We at InstantAmber know that when it comes to protecting your child, there is an infinite amount of information you can enter. For this reason, we have created a tool that will accommodate everyone. When setting up your child's profile, you can enter as much or as little information as you want. There are save buttons throughout the website, which enable you to save any work you have completed before logging off. So, count on spending as little as 15 minutes or as much as an hour... it's your choice!

Why can't InstantAmber enter my child's information or photographs into my account?

InstantAmber provides both you and law enforcement with a valuable tool in the event that your child goes missing. Your child's data can be - and should be - regularly updated. As such, your relationship with InstantAmber is an ongoing process that requires the ability to upload data on a regular basis. Additionally, your InstantAmber account contains sensitive data accessible by third parties only with your express consent. For these two reasons, the ongoing nature of the process as well as data security, InstantAmber can't enter data into your account.

Will my personal InstantAmber vault have a data storage limit?

No. Your personal InstantAmber vault's storage capacity is unlimited, and will grow as you enroll additional family members. Therefore, you should enter potentially lifesaving information and photos for every family member!

Does InstantAmber require installation onto my computer?

No, InstantAmber maintains all of the software necessary for the service. This innovative software design allows InstantAmber to provide you with the peace of mind that in the event of a missing child, law enforcement will have access to the data it needs (with your permission only), and you do not have to worry about carrying an out-of-date ID card, a bulky zip drive stick or awkward DVD-ROM that can be damaged, lost or forgotten.

What happens if my credit or debit card expires or changes during the subscription year?

It is your responsibility to maintain your credit card information. However, if your subscription does not renew as a result of a problem with your credit or debit card, we will notify you of the problem and you shall have 30 days from the anniversary date to update your payment information. In the event you do not update your information or contact us with the 30-day grace period, InstantAmber shall (for your protection) make every reasonable effort to delete the data entered in your account as soon as practicable. In the event that your subscription is terminated as a result of nonpayment, you agree that neither you nor any third party, including law enforcement, shall have any right to access your lapsed account.

How do I cancel a specific child?

With the InstantAmber dashboard, you can easily modify your subscriptions.  To cancel a specific child, login to your account.  Under Registered Children is a list of the children currently subscribed to InstantAmber.  In the Billing column, click on the link that says Paid in order to access the billing information associated with that child.  A link will show up on the next page allowing you to cancel the subscription for that child.  Follow the link and you will be prompted on the cancellation of your subscription.  You have the option of canceling the subscription immediately for that child, or ending the subscription at the expiration of the current term.  Once you have selected your choice, click the Cancel Subscription button.  Please use caution:  once a child's subscription is cancelled the information cannot be retrieved.

How do I cancel my account?

Each child in your account will be automatically renewed for one year on the anniversary date of the child's enrollment. However, you can terminate your subscription at any time before the anniversary date of an enrollment by emailing us at cancel@InstantAmber.com and requesting that your account be terminated. Please include your full name, address, requested date of termination and your reason for requesting termination. In the event that you terminate your subscription, you agree that neither you nor any third party, including law enforcement, shall have any right to access your terminated account. For your protection, InstantAmber shall make every reasonable effort to delete the data and photos entered into your account as soon as practicable.
